Rivers State Is Peaceful, Says Sultan Of Sokoto, As Etsu Nupe Commends Wike For Doing Well For His People

The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar 111 has commended the Rivers State governor, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for providing a peaceful atmosphere for the comfort of citizens and others who visit and do business in the state.

The Sultan was speaking at the annual assembly of traditional rulers on Tuesday in Port Harcourt. He debunked the rumour that Rivers State is not peaceful, stressing that the opinion is from enemies of the state who have chosen to embrace false hood instead of appreciating the good works of Governor Wike and the security agencies who have worked in synergy to protect life and property.

Alhaji Abubakar thanked Wike for the opportunity given to them to have a successful meeting in the state.

Also speaking at the ultra modern Leisure Park in Port Harcourt, Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar expressed happiness that Nigeria can boast of a world class amusement park in Port Harcourt.

He commended Governor Wike for the foresight in conceiving and establishing what can be described as another Dubai in Rivers State and called on tourists, local and international, to avail themselves of the world class facilities available at the park.

The retired Army General, who is now a traditional ruler promised to be ambassador of Rivers State in marketing the abundant tourist attraction and peaceful environment in the state.

In his vote of thanks at the banquet in honour of visiting traditional rulers , Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi commended the Rivers State governor for demonstrating capacity in governance and excelling in infrastructural and human resources development in Nigeria.

The revered traditional ruler called on other leaders to emulate the exemplary disposition of Governor Wike, particularly in his determination to continue to canvass for the unity and progress of Nigeria.

He thanked Wike and the people of Rivers state for the hospitality extended to them during their stay in Rivers State and called on the people and government of the state to continue to support the governor to sustain the good works.
