Wike Records Another Political Tsunami As WSM Is Inaugurated


As 2019 draws nearer, the political strength of Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike is increasing in geometric progression as a new organisation,  Wike Solidarity Movement, WSM, sets up structures in the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.



Speaking at the official inauguration of the body on Friday in Port Harcourt, the Chairman of Board of Trustees and former Secretary to State Government, Hon. Gabriel Pidomson described the organisation as peculiar one with emphasis on Governor Wike’s re-election in 2019.

He said WSM has offices from the units, wards, local governments and state level and that their duty is to ensure that Wike gets re-elected in 2019.
Earlier, chairman of the occasion who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Bro. Felix Obuah had thanked the group for conceiving and actualising the movement. He promised that the party will work with Wike Support Movement as it has been doing with other support groups within the party.

In their goodwill messages, leader of non – indigenes in the state and Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Emeka Olowu , Senator George Sekibo, former chairman senate committee on Defence and chairman of PDP Elders Forum, Chief Ferdinand Anabraba as well as Hon. Bright Amaewhule, Majority leader of Rivers State House of Assembly believe that, with the level of mobilisation recorded today, that the All Progressives Congress or any other party for that matter will no longer exist in Rivers State.

In his address at the occasion, Governor Wike, who was represented by Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Strategy thanked Hon. Pidomson and his team for working very hard to actualise the birth of the political pressure group.

He said that the formation of the new group does not in any way affect the activities of existing organisations working for the return of Governor Wike in 2019.
Wike, through the Emohua born political strategist was full of appreciation to the Grass roots Development Initiative, Forum of Ex-Councillors, the Source Connect, G4G and all other bodies supporting both the government and re-election of Governor Wike.

He urged hem to continue their good works, assuring that Wike will not disappoint them.
Highlights of the ceremony were the dedication of an in house Chapel, unveiling of insignia of the Wike Support Movement by representative of Governor Wike, Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh and the commissioning of a 16- seater bus by Bro. Felix Obuah. The bus was donated by Hon. Pidomson.

The inauguration attracted multitudes overflowing into the adjourning streets of Omerelu street in GRA, Port Harcourt.
